WHITE DESERT

White Desert

Founded by world-record holders Patrick and Robyn Woodhead in 2005, White Desert is a premier luxury travel company which has three camps on the world’s southernmost continent—Antarctica.

Arrive by private jet and stay at one of a kind, ultra exclusive camps for a carbon-neutral experience that is as luxurious as it is adventurous.

White Desert partnered with Andrew Ling Creative to build a new catalog of digital assets spanning photography and video, in one of the world’s most challenging environments.

“White Desert’s guests have all travelled the world, they have been almost everywhere, Antarctica is usually the last place they haven’t visited. The camps have played host to the likes of royalty from Jordan and Saudi-Arabia, Prince Harry, CEOs of large corporations and famous celebrities. We tend to attract people looking for an extraordinary sense of discovery and complete disconnect from the outside world.”

— Patrick Woodhead, Founder at White Desert

Each year, Antarctica sees approximately 35,000 humans out of the world’s 7.5 billion. 99% of these visitors travel by cruise ship to the coastal peninsula. Of the 35,000 annual visitors to the continent, only 1% (~350), visit the interior as seen here. Subtract the scientists, researchers, etc. and you’re left with about 100 people in the world. What are the odds? One in 75,000,000.

“Guests at camps can savor gourmet meals prepared by a private chef, enjoy a hot sauna with glacier views, sip cocktails by the fire, before and after crossing off bucket list adventures. These activities include visiting the South Pole, ice climbing, hiking through 200 meter long ice tunnels, and coming face to face with more than 20,000 Emperor Penguins.”
